Caption Contest, The Final Lineup
Okay, so we have all of our winning, placing and showing entrants to the Caption Contest. There were some real close races though. You all should be proud of yourselves (except those of you who got scratched).
Here is tomorrow's lineup for the final race:
And here are the match-ups with the early odds:
1 mweinstock (5-2)
1A suzDC (5-2)
2 kimmiepoppins (30-1)
3 Bill Atherton (2-1)
4 Jonathan Dayton High School (20-1)
5 thewritejoyce (12-1)
6 susanwrites (10-1)
7 artistq (5-1)
8 justinelavaworm (20-1)
9 Ann Gainer (15-1)
10 Steve Sanfilippo (15-1)
11 kimmiepoppins (15-1)
It looks to be an exciting race. At only 6-furlongs, it's a short race which means there is better opportunity for the longshots to come through. If you look above, it says the purse is $24,000, which means the winning horses chop up that pot with the most going to the winner and decreasing from there through 4th place.
You'll also notice it's a $25,000 claiming race. A claiming race means that these are all horses valued at $25,000 or less. To prevent a breeder from entering a more-valuable (read: faster) horse in this race, anyone can 'claim' one of these horses by bidding the $25,000 purchase price before the race starts.
Watch tomorrow sometime after 4:12pm Eastern Time to see who the big winner will be! Good luck to all!
